Sureline Vending Services VENDING MACHINES DESIGN • MAINTENANCE • REFURBISHMENT |
Radio Frequency control of Cigarette Vending machines Legislation in Ireland, and pending legislation in the UK aims to stop minors accessing tobacco products from vending machines. Under current agreements virtually all machines are within sight of a barperson. To further aid the publican in controlling access, Sureline Vending Services have developed a RADIO FREQUENCY CONTROLLER that stops the machine being used until activated by bar staff. The bar staff actually sees the person and can i.d. them, in the same way as they would for alcohol. Until activated the machine rejects all coins. Once activated after one vend the machine reverts to disabled mode. The machine lights up and appears as normal but will not function. We believe this is the definitive answer to the constant accusation that minors are sourcing cigarettes from vending machines. No publican would risk his license by allowing a machine to be activated for a minor. An alternative system using tokens obtained from a bar currently being used around the world in various places is easily thwarted by the tokens being ‘handed on’ to others. Tokens are often not used when they are obtained but kept by customers to use later. This effectively makes them currency, and does not safeguard access. Fitting the RF unit is simple and requires no special skill. Is quick, its effective and even a Trading Standards Officer with a 14 year old can’t get past it! Call Sureline Vending Services now on 01566 777701 to enquire about the unit. |
